Free School Meals

Registering for free school meals could raise an extra £1,300 for our school to fund valuable support.  If you feel that you may be eligible please follow the instructions detailed below.

Your child may be eligible for free school meals if you receive either:

• Income Support
• income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
• income-related Employment and Support Allowance
• Child Tax Credit – provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190
• Universal Credit
• the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
• support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

Thurrock Council Awards and Benefits Department will no longer accept paper claim forms for free school meals.

Applications can be made online by visiting:

https://www.thurrock.gov.uk/school-meals/free-school-meals

Simply login to My Account services, select ‘Education and childcare’, ‘Free school meals’ and then ‘Apply online’. A family can create an account if you don’t already have one.  All you will need is a valid personal email address.
